The Mormon church is the second richest religious organization in the world. They own stock in the Merriott Hotels and their child hotel lines as well as many other business interests around the world. Talk to the average Mormon and he will tell you he believes in Jesus and in fact thinks he believes most of what Christian churches believe.  Tell him that his church propagates that Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) are brothers and he will most likely tell you he never heard that before.  Cults tend to keep their people in the dark so they don’t know what they are into.  Joseph Smith the man who started the Mormon church was a 32nd degree Mason. Much of the doctrines of the Mormon church are taken from Free Masonry.  The first 32 degrees of Masonry are just to see if you can keep a secret.  The problem with secret organizations is who they keep the secrets from, not just outsiders but those in the organization as well. They lure people into their organization before they ever know what they are joining or where their money goes. On the outside they are putting on a squeaky clean image of family values and moral living, but on the inside they are whited sepulchres as it were full of dead men’s bones (cf. Matthew 23:27). If you invite a Mormon missionary or church member to your revival meeting he will most likely come, they take extreme effort to blend in to “Christian” society and not appear to be different or divisive.

Mormons believe that their church is "the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth" (D&C 1:30), the only organization authorized by the Almighty to preach his gospel and administer the ordinances of salvation, the only Church which has power to save" (Mormon Doctrine; 1977 ed, p. 136).  Most cults make this claim, they mostly all deny the deity of Christ, that there is a literal hell or literal heaven and that salvation is by grace. Some cults will make deceptive claims to believe in some of these commonly accepted doctrines, but although they say they believe in Jesus their Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible. In order to control people and build loyalty to the institution, or the men in it, rather than to Christ they must attack the doctrine of grace. The best way to do that is attack the deity of Christ. The Mormons like the Jehovah’s Witnesses attack the trinity. Mormons believe God is three separate persons, that Christ was once created a man just like you and I who became a god by obedience to the father. This is a very different Christ from the Jesus of the Bible, who was the creator of the universe Himself and existed from eternity past (Colossians 1:16-17). The Bible teaches Jesus was not created, He is God, who came to earth incarnate in a virgin’s womb. In addition to these common ground principles of cults some have their own revelation they claim we need to understand the Bible. Ellen G. White’s books, the Catholics and Jehovah Witnesses have their own Bible version, and the Mormons have a “companion book” called the Book of Mormon. This book was given on golden plates to Joseph Smith to print by angels according to Smith.  The Bible says in Galatians 1:8  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Revelation 22:18-19  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book [indicating they are lost]: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. God’s word is sacred, He doesn’t want anyone fiddling with it, changing it, correcting it, retranslating it, adding to it or taking anything away from it.

Mormons either deny of pervert every essential doctrine of historic Christianity, including the uniqueness of God, the virgin birth, the Trinity, the authority of Scripture (by relegating it to a position below their other sacred writings), and salvation by grace through faith.  Mormons are big on genealogies because like the Catholics, they believe in baptizing for the dead. They have the largest database of death records, marriage records, birth records, etc. in the world.  They gave several presidents their family tree from their archives.  When you die they will pull your death record from their computer and someone in their church will be baptized for you and you will become a Mormon so you can enter into the kingdom of God. In 1993 they even baptized Adolf Hitler.  Adolf Hitler was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mormons use this strange retroactive baptismal ritual to ensure ancestors or other relatives may join them in eternity (they don’t believe in heaven). See the baptism certificate by clicking here. That is why they are so fanatical about tracing your family tree. In fact if you want to trace your family tree you can go to an LDS church twice a week and use their computers, they will even give you free software you can use to trace your family tree at home. Of course if you visit them you can expect them to visit you.
